What is one fun fact about you?
I was born and raised in Honolulu and still have many hundreds of family members living there.
What is one thing that you like about working at Stanford?
I have worked with smart, hard-working people including my team and direct reports. They contribute significantly to the research and clinical care provided by the institution to many patients.
Tell us briefly about an event, project, program or initiative you were involved with at Stanford that you're most proud of.
In 2002, I was part of a small team that established the Clinical Trial Team in the School of Medicine. Eventually, I became director and our team grew to include contract officers as well as the research process managers to a total of 24 members. They are a dedicated group that works closely with faculty to get clinical trials up and running so Stanford can provide cutting-edge care to our patients.
What is one of your favorite memories while working at Stanford?
I loved working in the historic quad and being able to walk around campus. I miss that a lot now that we have moved to Redwood City.
Leave your Legacy: What piece of guidance would you give a new hire at Stanford?
Build your knowledge base; treat your colleagues with care; keep a positive attitude.
