What is one fun fact about you?
I retired from a successful career in engineering and graphic design (8 U.S. and International Patents, 25 awards for graphic design) 40 years ago, and switched to researching and teaching historical and social dance.
What is one thing that you like about working at Stanford?
The amazing students, with their high level of curiosity combined with their intelligence, ethics, and many talents.
Tell us briefly about an event, project, program or initiative you were involved with at Stanford that you're most proud of.
Creating a thriving social dance scene on campus, which has spread in several directions.
What is one of your favorite memories while working at Stanford?
Many are from when I was a Stanford grad student. I try to find ways of creating ongoing versions of those for my current students..
Leave your Legacy: What piece of guidance would you give a new hire at Stanford?
Adapt your curriculum plans to the real needs of the students. Ask them what their priorities are.
